She deserves a
space to become
herself.

The Teencoaching Girls Retreat™ is an immersive, baNtu-rooted residential experience designed to help teenage girls discover who they are — from the inside out. Before the world tells her who she should be, let her hear her own name.

Every girl, custom styled. Every girl, seen. This is what your daughter is coming home from.
Step 1 of 7 — Your Daughter Right Now

Which of these sounds
most like your teen?

Choose the one that feels most true — even if it's uncomfortable to admit.

She's confident on the outside but struggles privately with who she is
The high-performer who is quietly lost
She's easily influenced by friends and social media
Her sense of self shifts depending on who she's with
She's withdrawn and hard to reach emotionally
Conversations feel surface-level, especially at home
She's doing well overall, but I want more for her
I want to give her an advantage no school curriculum offers

Please select an option to continue.

Step 2 of 7 — Her Deeper Landscape

What concerns you most
about her future?

Select all that apply.

She doesn't know her own identity beyond school & social media
She struggles with emotional regulation and conflict
She has no connection to her culture or indigenous roots
She doesn't know how to lead herself or make decisions well
Our relationship as parent and daughter feels strained

Please select at least one option.

Step 3 of 8 — Her Academic World & Development

Two more questions —
both equally important.

The Teencoaching Girls Retreat™ addresses your daughter as a whole person. That means we go beyond identity and emotions — we also look at how she performs academically, and whether she has had honest, safe conversations about her own development.

Her Academic Performance & Work Ethic

The MAE™ (Mindset of Academic Excellence™) is a core component of this retreat. It works on the belief that academic struggle is never purely academic — it is always rooted in mindset, identity, or environment. Help us understand where she is right now.

Her results don't reflect how capable she actually is
She has the ability but isn't performing at her real level
She works hard but struggles with consistency and follow-through
The effort is there — the habits and discipline are still developing
She lacks motivation and seems indifferent about school performance
Getting her to care about academics is a daily challenge
She performs well academically but has no vision beyond passing exams
Good grades, but no connection to purpose, career, or future self
She is on track and I want to deepen her tertiary readiness now
She is performing well — I want to ensure she is also prepared for what comes after school

Please select an option to continue.

Puberty & Growth Conversations

The retreat includes a dedicated Puberty & Growth Conversations session — a safe, facilitated space where girls can ask the questions they're too afraid to ask at home or school. This is one of the most valued sessions by both girls and parents. Help us understand what she may need here.

We haven't had a full, open conversation about her body and development yet
The topic has come up but never in depth — or she shuts it down at home
She has received information but I'm not sure it came from the right source or framing
School, friends, or social media may have shaped her understanding more than I have
She is navigating relationships and attraction and I want her to have a safe, grounded framework
Dating, boundaries, consent — these are conversations she needs now
We talk openly — I just want her to hear it in a different voice and a communal space
She already knows, but hearing it with peers in a facilitated setting deepens it

Please select an option to continue.

Step 4 of 8 — What She Will Gain

This is what three days
can unlock in her.

The Teencoaching Girls Retreat™ is not a camp. It is a structured, facilitated identity-anchoring experience built on 30 years of work with young people — and grounded in what Western frameworks leave out.

🌿
Indigenous Identity Anchoring
She learns who she is before the world's labels — through her name, her lineage, and her cultural truth.
💛
Emotional Intelligence
She builds the language and skill to understand her inner world — and regulate it without shutting down.
🧠
Mindset of Academic Excellence™
The MAE™ session goes to the root of her academic performance — identity, mindset, work ethic, and tertiary readiness — not just study habits.
🌸
Puberty & Growth Conversations
A safe, facilitated session covering her body, development, relationships, consent, and safety — in a grounded, age-appropriate, affirming space she rarely gets elsewhere.
🏡
Family Dynamics Reframe
She returns home with new eyes for her relationships — especially with you. This retreat brings families closer.
👑
Self-Leadership Excellence
She learns to own her decisions, her time, and her direction — the confidence that doesn't depend on approval.
🌍
A Community of Girls Like Her
She leaves with a circle of girls who have done the same deep work — a bond built through truth, not just fun.
📸
Mayine-Themed Photoshoot
A professional cultural photoshoot on Day 2 — every girl dressed in a Mayine-commissioned, designer-made cultural outfit. No parent stress. No one left out. Every girl, seen equally.
"When a girl knows her name in every sense of the word — her cultural name, her emotional name, her future name — she becomes someone no one can manipulate."
— Nomveliso Mbanga, Founder · Mayine Development Institute
Step 5 of 8 — The Experience

Three days.
A lifetime of grounding.

The Teencoaching Girls Retreat™ in East London — intimate, intentional, and unlike anything on offer in this province.

01
Arrival & Root-Work — Who Am I Really?
Name rituals, lineage exploration, cultural identity grounding. Girls arrive as strangers and leave the first evening as a circle. The foundation is laid through baNtu epistemology — not performance.
02
The Deep Dive — Academics, Body, Relationships & Power
The fullest day. Emotional intelligence workshops and family dynamics sessions in the morning. The MAE™ (Mindset of Academic Excellence™) session addresses academic identity, performance mindset, work ethic, and tertiary readiness. In the afternoon, a dedicated Puberty & Growth Conversations session — a safe, facilitated space covering her body, development, relationships, consent, and safety. Peer influence navigation woven throughout. The day closes with the Mayine-Themed Photoshoot — every girl in a designer-made cultural outfit commissioned by Mayine, styled and celebrated as herself. Facilitated by a certified Teencoach™.
03
The Return — She Leads Herself Home
Self-leadership anchoring, personal vision declaration, parent integration session. She leaves with a written personal framework — her own map forward.
What's Included
Full residential accommodation for 3 nights (4 days)
All meals, snacks, and retreat materials
Facilitation by certified Nomveliso Mbanga Teencoach™ practitioners
MAE™ (Mindset of Academic Excellence™) session — academic identity, mindset, work ethic & tertiary readiness

Important — Transport

Transport to and from the retreat is not included. Parents are required to drop their daughters off at the venue on arrival day and collect them on departure day. This is intentional — we want you to see the space where your daughter will be, meet the facilitation team, and feel confident about the environment before you leave.

Regional Retreat Requirement — Mayine-Themed Photoshoot Booking Deadline

"Every girl arrives as herself. Every girl leaves with a photograph that proves it."

The Mayine-Themed Photoshoot is one of the most celebrated moments of every retreat. On Day 2, your daughter will be dressed in a custom cultural outfit designed and commissioned by Mayine — every piece intentional, every girl equal. No parent needs to source anything.

Because these outfits are commissioned by Mayine and made specifically for each regional cohort, we require all bookings to be confirmed at least 6 weeks before the retreat opens. This timeline allows our fashion designer to create each girl's outfit with intentionality. Late bookings forfeit the photoshoot experience.
